We are continuing our partnership with 1861 Consulting to represent our needs for mental health and counselors in Kansas.  

Mental Health Access Improvement Act Passes!

After nearly a decade of work, the Mental Health Access Improvement Act passed both the United States House and Senate and is on its way to President Biden's desk for his signature.  The passage of this act allows Licensed Professional Counselors to now participate in the Medicare program.  Please see the announcement from ACA by clicking the link below.

Medicare is the nation's largest health insurance program. Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs). Because of this, one of our top priorities currently is to pass legislation that allows LPCs to be reimbursed by Medicare.

The Counseling Compact is an interstate compact allowing professional counselors who are licensed and residing in a compact member state to practice in other compact member states without needing multiple licenses.
